By the way, I've got the serial port set up but when enabled (from 
hpcboot) it doesn't also show anything on the NEC except "built-in
console type = D16_0000". I can log in normally over the serial 
console but it doesn't show anything special when it kernel panics.
Is there a different way to enable the console that doesn't also disable
the regular console?
