hi
The Philips SAA9730 is a ~15 years old "combined multimedia and
peripheral controller", used in thin clients, internet access
terminals, diskless workstations, and on the MIPS Atlas board

it implements:
  - VGA interface and Video RAM
  - two USB interfaces
  - PS/2 Keyboard and PS2 Mouse interface
  - I2C interface to serial EEPROM
  - Serial Debug RS232 Interface
  - Ethernet interface

Has anyone kept any development notes about its quirks and defects
from the days people tried to support it for the Linux and/or NetBSD
kernels?

I am more interested in the network interface that it implements as
I'd like to prepare a minimal support for XINU.

Where can I look? YaMon sources?
Is there a document that tells about its quirks with the firmware?

thanks =)
D.
