nsendsig: bad version 1

Anyone know why I get this?

I compiled a kernel from today's sources and many programs crash with 
this error (including my login shell).  The userland is from Sept 24.

nsendsig comes from sys/arch/m68k/m68k/sig_machdep.c but I don't know 
what it means.  Any ideas?
