4MB simms again...

I decided to try again to upgrade from 8x1MB to 8x4MB.

I have a number of 4MB simms (9-chip) which I think
should work.

I applied the /WE patch. This was done a few years
ago, without success, but the machine works just fine
with the patch in place (8x1MB) so it cannot be too bad.

The only concession was that I could not source an 'S10
so I used an 'F10. The specs for this look good enough.

Hardly a difference - but maybe I am too forgiving?
Is there a load problem?

When I power up the pc532 with 4x4MB simms, all the green
LEDS go on and no output is sent to the terminal. It does
not matter what J1/2 are set too either.

This is the same picture as I get when I use 4x1MB 3-chip
SIMMS.

BTW, the reason for my interest is the recent acquisition
of a SCSI<->ethernet adapter, which is now firmly installed
in one of the ISA slots. Building anything on NetBSD is
just too long and the memory upgrade should be a major
performance boost.

Naturally, cross building is the way to go when in a hurry.
