I got the firmware installed, thank you! It seems to work since I can run 
ifconfig bwi0 up without error. I've been following chapter 24.2.1 from 
the wiki to connect to my router but when I run 'service wpa_supplicant 
reload' after configuring wpa_supplicant.conf I get "Failed to connect to 
non-global ctrl_ifname: (nil) error: Inappropriate ioct for device"
