It may be well possible that the machine is missing some bits of
hardware to use IDE. IIRC there is no IDE connector. It seems the IDE
controller is build into the PCI-ISA bridge, gets detected but the
machine was never designed to use IDE. Disks are mounted on special
trays and get pluged into a SCSI backplane with the trays. No cables!
