One more runmbing thought; Well-configured U-Boot should allow to operate IDE disk and/or USB stick storage. This means self contained USB storage can do network-less NetBSD installation. NAS U-Boot may, however, have no provision of such the functionality since it's not designed as a general computer. I'm considering about the design trade- off to add LIBSA USB storage which means I'm about to enter the forbidden territory of USB wonders without help of interrupt handlers.
