I built and upgraded to jpeg-turbo. It was not painless and had to 
uninstall and reinstall packages instead of a direct upgrade.
Didn't test full functinality, will do as soon as  GNUstep completes.

True, but I am not building official packages anyway, since I am not in TNF.
I can just share what I did since no official ones are available.
