   Oh, I get it.  I have 10GBps from my desktop to the primary VM host 
cluster here.  The $0.50 microcontroller that's on the board I just 
finished laying out is a good bit more powerful than my desktop 
workstations' processors were back then, too.  And I used high-end 
workstations!

   It's just that when people call it "useless", well, frankly, I know 
better.  We got a great deal of work done, just fine, at 10Mbps.

   Something better coming along doesn't make what it replaced worse. 
Salesmen seem to have most of society believing that it does, though.
