NetBSD typically cross compiles with bulk builds (its not like you can native compile for ancient arm handhelds or 68k etc... anyway).

OpenBSD always compiled natively and has machines on had for its native builds, it used to do this even for sparc pretty sure they were building on sparc64 hardware though.
