Sounds like you are missing the connection between the enclosure ID setting and the drive ID jumper block. There will be a separate header on the drive of at least 6 pins that has the 3 ID jumpers for a 50 pin drive. For something like the Sun 411 enclosure I expect there to be a 6 wire cable coming from the external ID selection that plugs into that jumper block. Bob
