I finally managed to fix and attach the external HD and thus add 2GB of 
swap, overkill, but that was the partition there.

No change, pcre2 will still lock up the SS4 totally.

So either the HW brokedown in a way only  this package fails (other 
stuff compiles) or I smell a kernel bug under load.

Stop-A doesn't get into monitor, so it is fairly bad.

I'll see if i can find some more RAM.
