The one recent (all is relative) change I see for the cgsix that could
be impactful is this one:

IIRC, before that, TGX+ would only be seen as 2 MiB. Since, the full 4
MiB are seen.
It works fine on sun4m (SS20 for me, SS10 for you), which is probably where most
testing for TGX+ is done - I'm more sure they were ever officially
supported on sun4c.

If you can rebuild a kernel and try again, then maybe reverting this
one change is worth testing.
