"machfb.c since rev 1.xx" is a perfectly reasonable answer.

Actually, I wasn't looking at the 3.1 source; I was looking at 4.0.1,
that being the most recent I had at ready hand: machfb.c 1.48.2.1.4.1.

Come to think of it, I know where to find unpacked 5.1 source, too. I
just now diffed that machfb.c against 4.0.1's and see nothing that
looks relevant, so, either it's newer than 5.1 or I'm still missing
something. While I'm not _ignoring_ the possibility of the former, I
currently consider the latter more likely.
