FWIW, i build all my netbsd kernels with 

	makeoptions	DEBUG="-g"

so that i get a "netbsd.gdb" in the build dir, as well as the
installable "netbsd".  then you can point gdb or addr2line to
the netbsd.gdb to get real debugging info, while the file you
actually load/run has the debug info removed.
