The deadline was set by core@, but obviously there is no problem, I/they can
extend it by a month.

Note, however, that maintaining this kind of feature does take time, and
requires a lot of attention; it cannot be done on the fly. I'm not trying to
dissuade you from working on that, quite on the contrary, I just want to make
sure you don't underestimate the amount of work needed (since you say that you
don't have a lot of time).
