hmm, looking at audio.c and auacer.c there are not a whole lot
of large stack users.

audiosetinfo() uses 2224 bytes though i can't quite tell how it
is more than 1KB.  auacer doesn't seem to have much large either.o

that stack trace sure has a lot of depth though.
