A limit would be in the firmware (which version are you using?) and
probably be documented on the Oracle web page. If that would be the
problem you would not need a smaller disk, but just make sure the /
partition is first (which it is by default) and ends before the limit.
You can use the remainig space for other partitions like swap or /home.

For this machine and the size you mentioned I would be suprised of this
kind of limit though.
