Hello, has anyone seen or tried LSI SAS 9300-8i or similar on sparc64 hardware? Any OS - NetBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris. HBA - https://sander-europe.eu/files/products/docs/9300serieds.pdf I think some hardware RAID cards normally have OpenBoot firmware which allows the system to recognise disks connected to it. However, I cannot find any documentation that would mention it for this HBA. On Broadcom legacy support pages, I found SPARC Solaris utilities to manage the card and to flash firmware. There is Solaris driver lsc(7D) which supports this HBA. There is OpenBSD driver mpii(4) which supports this HBA. There is a certification page that claims full support for Solaris, however no indication if this is valid for x86, SPARC or both. https://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/hcl/data/components/details/lsi_logic/sol_11_2/10535.html But, if the HBA has no OpenBoot firmware, then I guess I won't be able to boot anything. In order to actually try it, I would need to purchase it first.
