I've been able to boot NetBSD on sun4v into single user mode and
execute a few commands, that is about it. It's not stable enough to do
anything else.

If you want to do the same, then don't install from CD/DVD. Find a USB
stick, disklabel it and format it with NetBSD big-endian UFS root file
system, install sparc64 boot block then extract kernel + other sets to
root file system.

Insert USB stick into sun4v then boot with the -s flag and when asked
for init path, specify /bin/sh. If you're lucky, a running shell will
present itself.
