How many drives can a sun3 scsi bus really support?

I am curious as to how many drives a sun3 scsi bus can
support?  I can get 3 drives up on the bus (sun 2.1G drives)
but no more.  After that it starts to error out, as if the bus
was loading down too much.  Anyone have any thoughts or
experiences on the subject?  I was hoping to get 4x2.1g
drives up in a 911 box plus a tape and cdrom.  But, it looks
like the bus just can't power it up with that many devices.
