Yesterday I managed to pull up the original MAC address for one of
the Suns and reprogram it into the NVRAM, so I can now rule that out
as a possibility. It still only runs for a short time, then dies or
gives device timeouts. 

The bizarre thing is, I somehow installed these machines off the
network.

I think next I'll get some new transcievers, and after that, I don't
know. I'm pretty stumped here, for sure.
