After seeing Jason's posting, I wanted to continue with my amateur sniffing= effort.=0A= =0A= On a VAXstation 4000/60 (as I used before) using an emulation SCSI card=0A= (as before) I've run through a whole lot of official release ISO's.=0A= =0A= This time I installed each release and ran the following two command=0A= sequences (based on my interpretation of Jason's work).=0A= =0A= ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org ; dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3D/dev/null bs=3D4096 count= =3D100000 ; ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org=0A= ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org ; dd if=3D/dev/rsd0c of=3D/dev/null bs=3D4096 count= =3D30000 ; ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org=0A= =0A= I selected count values, as before, so they would give me more than 60 seco= nds of runtime.=0A= =0A= I liked the fact that the dev/zero case bypasses any complex device driver = and "real" device.=0A= =0A= The ntpdate portion came from Google helping me get a working command for t= he older releases.=0A= =0A= Hopefully these time corrections will show no gross time
