Strangely, I can confirm that both my non-simulated MicroVAX II and MicroVAX 2000 are both keeping time reasonably accurately with 10.0_RC1, after about just 2 days and with some load and without batteries.  Surely, Heisenberg's uncertainty principal is at work -- either that or some dreadful form of user error.
