This is configured in /etc/ld.elf_so and the fix probably is to remove
that file completely.

For the pkgin issue: are you sure you updated pkgin itself too?
You could check with: file /usr/pkg/*bin/pkgin

Also double check or recreate everything in /dev
(like: cd /dev && sh MAKEDEV all)
