Hi again, Sorry about sending email in html format, I'm re-sending it in text-plain format, Thx everybody ________________________________________ De: sm0ketst [mailto:[email protected]] Enviado el: viernes, 07 de enero de 2005 10:59 Para: '[email protected]' Asunto: Question about AS/400 port / status Hi folks, Im writing from spain, more precisely Valencia a very sunny place to live very close to the sea . Well, after reading the http://netbsd.org/Ports/#suggested-other web page Im just wandering the real state of the BSD in AS/400 systems , Ive an old IBM AS/400 9402 E02 (wow :o) system with a lot of dust but I think its working quite good I was reading that the performance of the system is very low compared with an Pentium 100 Mhz but still thinking that its no point to consider this in this question, I was reading the http://users.snip.net/~gbooker/AS400/ibm.htm and i realize the difficulties on the MMU problem about this system and the hardware architecture, but Ive done a search in google about AS/400 and BSD/unix/linux to see the possibility of running in the IBM system but I failed to find more references about it, could you help me locating info about porting AS/400? Is it possible or is it worthly? Is there a team working for the port?... well, this mail is to clarify which direction I should take I know a little about programming, i´m not an expert but I come from the real-time programming (VxWorks, Aonix ArtK and so ) if I can help . Let me know but by the way Im plugging the system to learn more about AS architecture Thanks in advance Peace for all P.S.: Sorry about my level of wroten English and have a happy new year 2005 !!!
