Yes, just that howl itself refused to start when failing on mcast init.

Yes it's quite dumb, pick an address in a specific range and try using 
it until someone claims it's theirs, but then you're in trouble :)

Yes, but it would allow for nice things like a WON-like nfs/smb/... 
share discovery, along with printers, scanners poping there as well 
(with a custom type to launch Sanity).

That's on my todolist for some time now, using userlandfs.
