True enough :-)
At least it's something where you only have to write little code, but 
have to dig in deeply :)

Of course, as long as you are *in* the kernel, there are lots of other 
calls you will have to use. What I wrote above only concerns the 
exported API - for drivers or other kernel modules.
Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to ask if you can't figure 
it out.

It should build on FreeBSD at least, so there was a chance it would 
have worked. I don't know the source of the problems, but at least in 
theory, it should be buildable on a Mac, too. Maybe someone should look 
into this one day.
