Perhaps a deleting flag afterall is needed, or another mechanism in order to find out whether the object cache is in the process of being deleted or not. To make a comparison, in the xsi semaphore implementation, I use an hash table, which makes thing a bit easier, as a Lookup() tells you whether or not the object is still around. As for now I can't think of any clean solution for this scenario.
