For now, it should work with the same magic, I would guess.
Anyway, you can put it into:
src/kernel/libroot/os/find_directory.c

OTOH I want to put that call into the kernel (to make it available 
there as well), and give the file systems some power, too (for example 
so that they can report where the Trashcan is, if any).
