xp1000 and openbsd 3.8

Hi,
I've a compaq alpha xp1000 running openbsd 3.8. It's a very nice machine
but it has a weird problem. Every so often the network will stop working.
I can't ping my box or ssh into it. No networkign responds on my xp1000 at
all. When I do a reboot it works again for a few days then it stops again.

Has anyone else seen this? I've had this with another network card too, a
3c905 in the same box. The network locked up with and with out the 3com
installed :(

Any idea's? Anyone used openbsd 3.8 on the xp1000?
