As far as I know, no one is actively working on supporting non BWX
hardware. Iirc the XP1000 falls in the non BWX hardware category, so
in that case there no support at all.

If I'm wrong, check if it works for you by manually building the X
server and drivers from Xenocara, and report back. 

The only tests I can do are with a cirrus card (using the
xf86-video-cirrus X driver) and a TGA card (using xf86-video-wsfb) in
a PWS 500au (BWX capable) and in both cases every Xft/Xrendrer based
drawing is corrupted.
