wsdisplay_console_initted assert on 712/100 and Oct 24 snapshot

I know the October 24 snapshot is old but I just came arround to
test it on my HP 712/100.
It assert in wsdisplay_console_initted.
I don't a have cross-compile setup for hppa so I didn't actually try
a newer -current. But I'm willing to try again with the next available
snapshot.
Yeah, this is all typed by hand, typo could have occur.
[I also had problem with getting the dmesg. "e/s *msgbufp" worked
but ddb_more had too many lines in one page and the text disappeared
at the top. That's why I used boot -c. Is there a way to change the
number of lines displayed in ddb_more?]
