I know very little about the hp9000 and friends. They ran hpUX and they are physically large for the resources inside. That's about it. I have looked at hppa and hp300 pages and I don't know where I should see the model that a friend has in his office. He is trying to find a suitable boat on which to use it as an anchor and I thought thet it might just run OpenBSD. It does have hp9000 on the front but his description was that it is: D230 PA7200LC 128 RAM 4G DAT 2X 4GB HDD 100 BaseT card Delivered May 97 (was $43K AUD) Does that mean anything to categorize it? Just looking at it I could easily imagine that it could exceed 25kg but it isn't where I coulld easily pick it up to check. Should I get it or forget it? (I am a hardware guy so collectables tend to cluster around and I have nothing like this) Thanks, Rod. PS I didn't figure it was worth bothering the list with a subscription for what may be a one-off so please CC me.
