It should work (I am not sure at 100%) but there is not so
much difference between and D250 and a D230. I give you a
configuration guide DXXX from November 2001.

Well, if you want to explore this world, the best is to
find an HP9000/800 D390/D380 or may be D370, (avoid all K
series due to the fact there need to be fed w/ so current
!) you will be allowed to put 5 hard disks, find hard disk
w/ at least a capacity of 9 Gb. I would recommend you to
add some memory, in my humble opinion, 256 MB is required
to launch open-Bsd.  For example : LVM on HPUX needs at
least 512 MB of memory

Also, you can install the Debian 3.1. PA-RISC Linux
supports all HP PA-RISC workstations. Not everything is
perfectly functional - but nearly all of it work
