Hi,

I had the plan to try openbsd/i386 and came across the hppa version :-)

first I want to mention that some CKSUMs for 3.3/hppa seem to be wrong
or files on ftp server are corrupted ? I tried downloading multiple
times but always failed.

bz@accu:~/.../OpenBSD/3.3/hppa> verify-cksum.sh
INSTALL.hppa OK
base33.tgz OK
bsd OK
ERROR: bsd.rd : 306905979 != 211366707, 4472230 != 4313380, bsd.rd = bsd.rd
comp33.tgz OK
etc33.tgz OK
game33.tgz OK
ERROR: lif33.fs : 2680328620 != 2459127647, 1740800 != 1667072, lif33.fs = lif33.fs
man33.tgz OK
misc33.tgz OK
xxboot OK

Then I downloaded lif33.fs from snapshots and CKSUM is ok.

Problem is that with both I get the same results:

--- cut ---
BOOT_ADMIN> boot lan ipl
0x06.C740

Attempting to boot.

Loading Initial Program Loader

0x06.8007
0x06.8007
0x06.8007
0x06.8007

ERROR: Cannot load IPL, error detected

0x06.C7F0
Boot process failed. press <ESCAPE> to Continue.
--- /cut ---

The file gets downloaded 20 times from the tftp server - or at
least gets started to be downloaded.

I have not seen any problems why this re-load happens in tcpdump.

Some info about the machine:

--- cut ---
BOOT_ADMIN> Inf

System model number: HP 9000/715/100
Processor revision 2.3 100MHz
Instruction Cache Size: 131072
Data Cache Size: 131072
Memory Size: 96 MB
Built in floating point coprocessor
Board Serial Number XXXXXXXXXX

BootRom Version 1.4

auto boot on
auto search on
fastboot off
...
--- /cut ---

Is there anything more the lif33.fs expects to find somewhere in the
time before printing a first character to the user ?

Any ideas what to try or do ?
