oh come off yourself.  i went through about 2 years of very long discussions
with lots of people to try to fix this, and there were LOTS of reasons for
getting VRRP freed up.  cisco refused.

It works fine with a lot of other very big products which are starting
to impliment it themselves.

We never said that we wanted CARP to be a standard.  Did we say that
somewhere?  No.  We wrote CARP so that we could use it.

A standard document written by us would change NOTHING.  cisco and ietf
would block its passage if we submitted it at ietf, or massively change
it to break interoperability and NOONE would benefit from that.

you do not have a grip on what is really going on.
