Default route and laptop suspend

You have a station that uses IPv6 autoconfiguration to obtain its
address and the default route. Now you temporarily stop that
station, e.g. it's a laptop and you put it into suspend mode. When
you reawaken it some time later, the default route is gone and you
either have to explicitly call rtsol(8) or wait some minutes for
the next regular router advertisement to fly by.

This is somewhat annoying and I don't understand why the route
disappears in the first place.
