Fun.  Trust me, I've more than enough stress in my life.  OpenBSD
is a part of my life that is still fun.  When I'm too stressed, or
it is not, I go and do something else.  There are times I wish I
could be more involved in OpenBSD, but my current situation means
that there are bouts when I'm simply not able to cope with the
simple stress coding can give you.

I'm gratefull when Theo or someone else throws me a bone, and allows
me to hack on something rewarding, even though my performance is
entirely sub-par on many levels at the current time.

Now you come along, and ask why I do it.  Well, if I'm going to
have the stress (and there is little other way to put it) of doing
SMP, getting it into the kernel, stable, and secure;  Well, I'm
going to have you pay for making me deal with that stress.  Not
only that, but I'm going to make you acquire the needed documentation
and help I would need.


The world free of what kind of people?  People that don't want
money or other rewards for their contributions?  Hey I have news.
I have expenses, wants, needs, and most of all, dreams.  Hell, I'd
like to retire by the time I hit 45.  I have other things I'd like
to do, besides chasing the almighty buck, other things than to
satisfy someone out there looking for opensource idealism.  Literally,
I code because I like it.  I've resisted many very lucrative offers
to code for money.  Why?  Well, it just would have made it not fun
anymore.  So, what would me make my soul now?  Hmm... well, if I can
move that retirement up to 35, I'd say you have me sold.  In other
words, you'd be looking at some $3.5 million to get SMP into an
OpenBSD derived kernel.  As I'm not the last and ultimate authority
as to what goes into OpenBSD, I have to keep that "derived" line
in there...


You game?
