Marvell Libertas IEEE 802.11b/g PCI on sparc64

Running OpenBSD 4.4 GENERIC sparc64 on a Sun Blade 150.  I didn't
read close enough when I read this line in the supported hardware.

"Marvell Libertas IEEE 802.11b/g Compact Flash adapters (will be
detected as PCMCIA adapters) (malo)"

As I installed a Netgear WG311v3 PCI card thinking that it was
supported, but it isn't.  After re-reading the web page
again, I see that the PCI version is not supported.

My question is why?

The dmesg shows the card:

However, when I try to do anything with the card I get:

malo0: timeout at firmware load!

I recompiled the kernel enabling debug messages for the
driver and I get the following kernel messages when I do a:

ifconfig malo0 up ; ifconfig malo0 down

I did some searching and it appears the card worked on a OpenBSD
alpha system.  I tested the card in a i386 system and it works fine.
At this point I think it may not be working because of endian issues
as sparc is big endian, and i386 and alpha are little endian (AFAIK),
but that is just a guess.  Yes the firmware files are installed, if
they weren't you get a different error message.
