sun4c audio in 4.5

DISCLAIMER; I fully understand and agree that making sure audio works out 
of an 8-bit subsystem played through an internal speaker is pretty low on 
the priority scale.  This is mainly curiosity and so I can learn what's 
changed from 4.0 -> 4.5 in this regard.

I have an IPX, and with OpenBSD 4.0 I could play audio, given that it was 
8000hz rate when it hit the hardware.  I believe I was able to use 'mpg123 
-r 8000 foo.mp3' and it would 'just work'.

Now I've installed 4.5 and I see that mpg123 only supports sndio and dummy 
as outputs.  I read a bit on sndio but I can't really find a definitive 
resource on it.  Needless to say, mpg123 does not work anymore.  I tried 
lots of flags, including using mpg123 to convert this to a 
8bit/8000hz/mono .au format and using aucat in legacy mode.  This gets me 
sound, and I can almost recognize the song.  So the hardware is 'working' 
insofar as taking input and doing $something on output.

If anyone can point me to a changelog, message etc showing where something 
was cut out or changed in sparc/sun4c/audioamd etc that is the root cause, 
I would greatly appreciate it.  Again, not a priority at all, it was just 
kind of neat to have the most inefficient underpowered headless mp3 player 
around :)  Thanks.
