Thanks for organising a potential fix, I'll give it a try in a few hours.

I won't have this machine for much longer... the Police called earlier today
and informed me that the machine was stolen, sold to an auction house,
auctioned to a junkyard and then sold to me. They'll probably collect it in
the next three days. They're refunding me, but still... pitty I can't keep the
machine :( .

The error is a little bit puzzling, since it indicates there's nothing
wrong.  But I committed a potential fix, and snapshots with that fix
are out now.  You should be able to download them from
pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/sparc64 on your favourite mirror.  Could you
give that a go?
