If you can't find the driver source code, you should just switch that 
one machine to run OpenBSD.

I've gone the other way once or twice on single machines when drivers 
were not forthcoming
and found that the systems are pretty much alike. 3d party packages are 
different (and I
think Open's are better), but the core commands are pretty similar.
