I was unaware that OpenBSD could use raw devices as I have always had to
prepare them.  At any rate the below example is very similar to the
output when attempting to prepare a >120G IDE disk in the same box using
the on-board controller.  This particular example is using a SiL3512
based card.

Using a card with a VIA 6421A I rx the following, but haven't any idea
where the disk is, goes, or how to boot from it.

Put another way, I know the paths (or can suss them out) for the four
on-board IDE devices, and have done so for add-on SCSI devices, but
cannot for the life of me figure out what /pci... address this
instantiation of wd0 is located at.  OpenBSD of course does see it as
wd0, and quite happily too!

I have not included the preperation data from the prior example because
in this case it procedes normally and without surprise.  I did compare a
show-devs from the system with no card installed and with the Via card,
which follows this dmesg output.

previously, it now appears to behave differently, and cautiously better.
 I'm not sure what I've done differently in the meantime, but I may have
done a 'reset-all' and may have gone from OBSD 4.6/4.7 to 4.8, but
cannot now be sure of any of that.
