Put another way, I know the paths (or can suss them out) for the four on-board IDE devices, and have done so for add-on SCSI devices, but cannot for the life of me figure out what /pci... address this instantiation of wd0 is located at. OpenBSD of course does see it as wd0, and quite happily too! I have not included the preperation data from the prior example because in this case it procedes normally and without surprise. I'm not sure what I've done differently in the meantime, but I may have done a 'reset-all' and may have gone from OBSD 4.6/4.7 to 4.8, but cannot now be sure of any of that.
