xenocara build fails on 5.5-stable

Hi,

I'm trying to build xenocara on a sparcstation running 5.5-stable (dmesg
below).  During make build, I get the following error:

When I start over, the build fails in the same way (configure: error:
newly created file is older than distributed files!), but at another point
during the build.
The xenocara source is mounted from an NFS server, both have their clocks
syncrhonised from a set of local NTP servers, so their time is within a
few ms from each other.
Other systems (e.g. sparc64 or hppa) using the same NFS server have no
problem.  A similar sparcstation-5 running 5.4-stable also works fine.
The computer with the problem was running 5.3-stable until May 1st and
also worked fine when building xenocara.

What could be the problem here?
