This afternoon I setup a boot server so I wouldn't need to keep burning 
(and buying) blank cd media to test.

On -current, saw the following behaviour:

With a net boot into bsd.rd, I was able to install -current to my drive 
(the snapshot available today), however the sparc64 system that was 
installed wasn't bootable. I used just default settings for all the 
installation answers.  After the install I got this message on boot:

Rebooting with command: boot
Boot Device: disk File and args:
OpenBSD IEEE 1275 Bootblock 2.1

Trying BSD...

Evaluating:
Flushbuf error
read header: short read (only 0 of 64)

So I tried to restart again from the hard drive into the newly installed 
bsd.rd and got this:

Rebooting with command: boot bsd.rd
Boot device: /pci@1f,0/ide@d/disk@0,0 File and args: bsd.rd
..
The file just loaded does not appear to be executable.

This is on a SunBlade 100, I haven't tried on a newer on any of my newer 
hardware but I have several more modern sunfire machines available to 
test with as well.  So it appears that there was either some filesystem 
corruption or the openbsd bootloader became broken between attempts.

At this time the installation is entirely unusable and unless I 
re-install I cannot even access the boot loader.  I tried reinstalling a 
number of times and got the same behaviour, where the launcher works on 
the first boot and fails with the first error above and following that 
any subsequent boots are unable to even open the bootloader.

I went back and installed version 6.5 and 6.3 and both install and work 
just fine.  Like I mentioned in one of my previous emails, my sunblade 
100 was out of commission for a few releases since the nvram battery had 
died and I had to design/build a replacement so I missed everything from 
6.6 to 6.9, I can easily test those if people are interested though.

I am wondering if perhaps there is an issue with ffs2 and maybe I should 
test with ffs1? Just a thought, will post more when I have time tomorrow 
afternoon.
