State of VAX port - MicroVAX 3100-40

I've been running OpenBSD 5.0 on simh 3.8-1 without a problem, but can't get it to boot on my MicroVAX 3100-40. NetBSD 5.1 does fine on the actual hardware, so I'm convinced the hardware is fine (VMS 7.3 runs too). I've gone through the message list, but it looks like nothing but spam for the last few years. Is anybody running on actual hardware anymore? What is the state of the VAX port these days?
