One problem I don't understand: I can't su to root anywhere (console or from ssh); I just get "sorry" in reply and "bad su" messages in the log. I can't figure out why. The user is in the wheel group. Works on i386. One observation: I used the proper install process on i386 and found that it's more accepting than when I set the root password on the VAX with 'passwd'. No big deal. FWIW, I couldn't get mopd running properly on linux (either on hppa or on i386); it just wouldn't transfer the boot loader reliably. Ended up installing OpenBSD/i386 just to boot the vax, and it worked first time and everytime. I hope to track this down in the future and host the VAXen on linux instead probably.
