Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies (ACCAB)

ISO 9001 is a useful tool for your organization to be able to demonstrate that
you are managing your business processes to deliver quality goods and services
consistently. The certification of the management system to ISO 9001 is not
the requirement but to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your
company operations is of paramount importance.

There are several ways in which your organization can claim conformity to ISO
9001, and you need to ensure that the method chosen by you provides your
customers with the necessary degree of confidence.

When choosing a certification body to carry out ISO 9001 certification, please
ensure:

7        That the certification body has auditors with experience in your
industry          sector so that they can add value to your management
system;

7        That the certification body is cost effective but remember that the
cheapest is not always the best if their auditing is below the standard or
their certificate is not

      recognized by your customers.

7         That the certification body is able to demonstrate an independent
confirmation of their competence, in other words:  it is accredited.

Accreditation Commission For Conformity Assessment Bodies (ACCAB) is an
Independent, International Accreditation Body (AB). It works to serve the
global communities of businesses and consumers.

ACCAB accredits appropriately qualified independent third party Conformity
Assessment Bodies (CABs) such as Certification Bodies, Inspection Bodies, and
Testing & Calibration Laboratories to ensure their competence to carry out
specific tasks as per the International Standards & Benchmarks.

The authority vested is ACCAB is that assigned to them by the Conformity
Assessment Bodies and other Organization it accredits and recognizes by virtue
of these applicant and accredited bodies pledging support for the mission and
objectives of ACCAB and ensuring that their actions are according to that
policy. It is an independent, impartial and non-governmental body and makes no
claim to be connected with any government.
