You've got to be kidding me.

Our hackathons are invitation-only events which are coordinated in a
single world-writeable file on a development machine.

And our hackathons are _the_ hackathons, we did them first and named
them so; we've done over 40; and continue to do multiple a year.  Noone
else has done hackathons like we do.

Whatever you are hoping to have happen are not hackathons.  Pick
another word.  This one is already in use.
